The Rio Pro starts on Friday without Slater, Parko, Ibelli or Conlogue

They will be replaced by Wright, Dantas, Pupo and Ado respectively. The trials will take place tomorrow.

Kelly Slater, Joel Parkinson, Caio Ibelli and Courtney Conlogue will not be competing in the fourth stage of the world circuit, the Oi Rio Pro, the WSL announced in a press release. They will be replaced by Mikey Wright, Wiggolly Dantas, Miguel Pupo and Pauline Ado respectively.

Even though he competed and surfed very well at the Founders' Cup, Slater complained that he is still suffering from a foot injury, which he injured 10 months ago while surfing at Jeffreys Bay. The best in history has avoided surfing in Brazil as often as possible.

Ibelli is on crutches, also due to a foot injury, and Joel Parkinson said he would miss the game for personal reasons. Courtney Conlogue is entering the final stages of recovery from an injury to her right foot.

It was announced that Alejo Muñiz will be one of the wildcards of the event and the rest are yet to be determined through the trials that will take place tomorrow, Thursday. There will be two final series, one for men and one for women, which will face:

Kayne Reis
Luana Coutinho
Taina Hinckel
Tais de Almeida

And in men to:
Eduardo Fernandes
Thiago Camarao
David Silva
