The Rip Curl Pro Playa Grande defined its semifinalists

The championship will be determined between Correa, the Muñiz brothers, André in the men's category and Rodríguez, Ribeiro, Rosas and Barona in the women's category.

A third day of fun waves breaking in Biología determined the semi-finalists in the men's and women's divisions of the Rip Curl Pro Playa Grande, QS 1000, stage 1 of the South American qualifiers.

Among the men, Alonso Correa, Santiago Muñiz, Alejo Muñiz and Gabriel André will be the ones who will determine the champion in two semi-finals and then a final.

Then, among the ladies, the semi-finals were formed between Karol Ribeiro and Arena Rodríguez and Daniella Rosas and Kyani Hyakutake.

Among the surprises was the defeat of the current South American champion, Sophia Medina, at the hands of the Peruvian duo formed by Arena Rodríguez and Melanie Giunta.

The local hero, Lele Usuna, also said goodbye to the event, having had a good championship, in the hands of Noel de la Torre and Leo Casal.

The performance of the young Chilean, De la Torre, was particularly noteworthy as he reached the quarter-finals, where he lost against Santiago Muñiz, who had the highest total of the day, 15,8.
