The wave forecast for Lobería, host of the Sails of Change Cup, looks very promising between March 29 and April 2, dates on which the event takes place.
Worth 1000 points, this will be the first QS of the South American qualifier for the 2024 Challenger Series.
The main forecast models such as Surfline and MagicSeaWeed are consistent in that after a week in which the sea reaches half a meter, as if the organizers had hired the waves, a marked increase in the size of the sea is seen, which from Tuesday (the day before the start) goes to two meters that remain until the end of the event.
The tournament, which was held last year at Tongo Reef, moved to Lobería, a more exposed break where the waves can range from solid to large.
According to the statement sent by the WSL, the event will feature some of the best local surfers such as Dominic Barona, Genesis Borja, Alex Suárez and Gato Chila with some of the best from “Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Venezuela and other countries in South America.
