On that occasion Uruguay was placed 14th and had Julián Schweizer finishing the event seventh and Nacho Pignataro in 11th.

Chile was ranked 28th in 2019 but the team has changed its face with two surfers who managed to get into the top 10 at the 2023 Pan American Games in Panama: Rafael Cortez and Samantha Wilson.
