The WSL Junior World Championships will be held at Seaside Reef

Janire, Rubiana, Sol, Bitor and Alan already know where they will seek glory in the U-20 World Cup

The waves at Seaside Reef in Cardiff by the Sea will host the WSL World Championships from January 9-15, sources close to the tournament, which is returning after more than three years, told DUKE.

The WSL Junior World Championships bring together the best juniors by region. It had already been reported that it would be held in California, but the beach had not been revealed.

In the case of South America, the Peruvian Sol Aguirre and the Brazilians Laura Raupp, Ryan Kainalo and Cauá Costa have already qualified.

On the European side, Janire González Etxebarri and Bitor Garitaonandia from the Basque Country will be participating alongside the French Aelan Vaast and Noa Dupouy.

For North America, the Mexican Alan Cleland and the Costa Rican Rubiana Brownell achieved first and second place in the ranking respectively and will also be participating in the tournament.

In the 2019 edition of the tournament, a format of 24 surfers for men and 16 surfers for women was used.

Peruvian Sol Aguirre stood out by reaching the quarterfinals. Brazilian Lucas Vicente and Japanese Amuro Tsuzuki won the tournament.
