The WSL added three QS 10.000 for 2020, which it will call Challengers

New Zealand and Philip Island are added to the tour of important stages in the qualifying series


Piha Beach on New Zealand's North Island is making a strong entrance into the QS calendar.

Two women's and one men's QS 10.000 will be added to the 2020 world surfing circuit, which the WSL will call Challengers. A men's and women's 10.000 in March in Piha, New Zealand and an all-women's 2020 in Phillip Island, Australia in November will be the major new additions to the QS in XNUMX, the organization announced in a press release.

As DUKE previously reported, this is done in the new tournament structure of 1.000, 1.500, 3.000 and 5.000.

The statement states that the tournaments will have more marketing with top-level broadcasts, equal prizes, and seeks to increase the entry routes to the CT for QS surfers.

On the other hand, they assure that a maximum of 10 events of 10.000 points will be reached.
