The best 16 longboarders of the event were defined on perfect, long waves in Santa Catalina, a little damaged by the onshore wind but with room to make good maneuvers.

Chloe Calmón and Atalanta Batista from Brazil had the best performances of the day, adding 12,16 and 12,84 respectively to win their heats. Also standing out were Peruvians María Fernanda Reyes and Ana Kamila Kaspar who followed them in the day's totals.

Sindy Portillo from El Salvador, Inés Beisso from Uruguay and Roan Reyes from Costa Rica surprised with convincing performances, nailing all five confidently on their boards.

Another great performance was given by Canadians Olivia Stokes and Mathea Olin, who managed to make one-two in their series.

Sindy Portillo from El Salvador hung up the five with authority and made it into round 2.

Argentina and Costa Rica also managed to have their two longboarders advance to round 2. This round is made up of Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Canada and Costa Rica, who managed to have their two qualified competitors, and Uruguay, Panama, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Chile and Colombia, who each entered one competitor per country.

This is how the round 2 series ended, which has the longboarders one step away from practically qualifying for Santiago 2023 considering that the event with the highest hierarchy is the ISA World Championship next week and that it has a higher hierarchy than this one:

Each event mentioned qualifies four out of nine surfers (four per event and one local Chilean).

The event continues tomorrow at 7:00am with round 2 of the women's longboard competition and then, in the afternoon, the SUP races will take place and the champions and the last qualifiers for Santiago 2023 will be decided.
