Special coverage presented by Sails of Change

A day of perfect lefts in paradise determined the top 16 surfers in the men's division of the Sails of Change Galapagos Cup, QS 1000, stage 3 of the WSL Latin America regional tour.

Local players Maxi Sáenz, Bolivar Pesantes, Bibi Rodríguez, Ramón Loor, Bruce Burgos and Esnaider Parrales along with Chilean Manuel Selman and Peruvian Miguel Tudela managed to advance their series to now be among the best 16 of the debut of the WSL world tour in the paradise that is Galapagos.

The rest of the team is completed by eight Brazilians.

The waves at Tongo Reef were perfect all day, ranging from 1m to 2m, chest sized to overhead, with good wind conditions, from gentle offshore to almost no wind.

The best performance of the day was by the young Brazilian Rodrigo Saldanha, who scored 16,5 (9+7,5) to beat Sáenz (who advanced in second place) and Andy Rivera and Cayetano Plaza, who said goodbye to the tournament.

The action continues tomorrow in the Galapagos with what is expected to be the entrance of the ladies and the definition of the quarter-finals for both genders.
