The cream of the crop of the best of Latin surfing was cut on the second day of the Surf City El Salvador Latin Pro and the best 16 of the event were defined in the men's open category on another day of perfect waves in La Bocana.
The sea dropped a little but remained organized and glassy all day, with good walls for maneuvering.
The top 16 were determined in the following round of XNUMX series:
Lucas Madrid vs Jhony Corzo Sean Forester vs Bryan Pérez Porfirio Miranda vs Maximiliano Cross Aaron Jesse vs Lucca Mesinas Rafael Pereira vs Erickson Ortiz Angelo Bonomelli vs Israel Barona Noe Mar McGonagle vs Martín Passeri Juninho Urcia vs Anthony Fillingim
The player with the best score in the ranking, Sebastián Correa, was eliminated in a very close series against the local Erickson Ortiz and the Ecuadorian Israel Barona. Juninho Urcia was left in first place in the ranking. The Huanchaco native will face tomorrow the Costa Rican Anthony Fillingim who has been showing incredible surfing this week.
Others who continued with title hopes were Lucas Madrid, Maximiliano Cross, Israel Barona, Martín Passeri, Jhony Corzo, all of whom have scores from previous stages of the ranking and have those points to support them against the stage's contenders who have not competed.
The event will award 6.600 points to the winner and the leader of the ranking will receive 6.690, which clearly shows the weight that this stage will have in the final positions.
The first round of youth competition was also held and established a second phase with the following results:
