The best day of the wave waiting window so far was well spent with 16 half-hour series going into the water and determining the members of the round of 32.

Only four surfers were eliminated from the event: Matt McGillvray, Josh Moniz, Imai Devault and Jadson Andre.

Carlos Muñoz has advanced and there is a good chance that he will be in Stage 2 at Sunset (see interview here).
