Below are 14 snapshots from the first day of the Latin Pipe Masters, the Maui and Sons Arica Pro, which took place today.

Kiwi Elliot Paerata Reid is loving the waves in Chile. He made it through both of his heats and moved on in the event. All photos: WSL/Nico Diaz
Leo Casal, champion of the pro junior in Iquique, showed that he is doing well for what has happened and at 14 years old he got into the round of 64.
Another perspective of the 14-year-old boy, Leo Casal, in the last series of the day, when the wind had already come (although his good waves were still coming out).
From the Mexican Pipeline to the South American Pipeline, Angelo Lozano heading to round 2.
Camilo Hernandez was patient and found this bomb that put him in round 2.
There are a few centimeters of water under Edher Reis's board.
Gabriel Villarán won here in 2009 and wants to repeat in 2019.
Joao Jukoski won his heat on that wave.
Luciano Bruhler of Brazil, well placed.
Frenchman Maxime dos Anjos was injured in the first series of the day. He fell on a left, hitting his lip and teeth, not breaking them but they loosened. The Gringo does not forgive.
Philipe Chagas was well-disposed and that's why he won his series.
El morro, el estrado, El Gringo, are already part of the city's folklore.
Villarán in the wave that put him in round 2, took a while but ended up coming.
