This is how the final day of the Surf City El Salvador Pro was experienced, which today crowned Griffin Colapinto and Stephanie Gilmore.

As captured by WSL official photographers Thiago Diz, Pat Nolan and Ed Sloane.

The photos follow below:

No spotlight could save Italo from a loss to Filipe Toledo that left him in a slump in his semifinal series. Still, with third place, Italo moved into the top five of the rankings. All photos by: WSL/Diz-Nolan-Sloane

In another close and controversial series, especially for the Brazilians, Gabriel Medina lost in the semis against Griffin.
Medina surfed well but the judges did not reward him as he expected.

Ferreira, pop star surf star?
Defay surfed well, placed third and got closer to Carissa, who is now in second place, 1000 points behind the leader.
Lakey and Punta Roca got along very well.
It wasn't the epic end of the afternoon that it was yesterday, but the sea was, at times, nice today.
Good sets came in at dawn and the free surfers (like Franco Radziunas) enjoyed themselves.
