A historic day in pictures

Professional surfing is back. It's almost back halfway, in Maui because of the shark attack, in Oahu because of Covid.

In the end, things were sorted out and the event ended on a very good day at Pipe. Inconsistent, not that big for what it can be, but with great tubes.

In addition, with the historic situation that the ladies went into the water for the first time to compete in a CT there.

Read Tyler's victory story here y Here is the chronicle of John John's victory.

Below, the best photos.

Ryan Callinan is very talented but he doesn't compete like a beast. That's why Italo got the better of him. The Australian still got some good points.
Historic moment: For the first time in history, women are competing in a CT at Pipe. Pictured: Sage Erickson looking at the queen.
Italo Ferreira started well, winning solidly against Ryan Callinan, he continued well by beating Jeremy Flores, but in that series he got injured, hit the bottom, did an aerial maneuver and showed he was in a lot of pain. He came back later, gave Medina a fight but Medina got revenge for last year's result.

Sally Fitzgibbons paid with more than one stroke at Pipe. She showed determination, but she had to pay.
In these conditions, with a relatively small Pipe and not-so-perfect waves, John John is unbeatable. He showed perhaps more joy than when he won his world titles.
The Queen
Medina lost his second consecutive final at Pipe, but he is surfing very, very well.
Carisa Moore surfed very well and narrowly lost an inconsistent heat to Tyler Wright.
Robinson, who is a beast at Pipe and was doing very well, showed that he is human and allowed himself to be intimidated by Kelly Slater.
Kelly and an old acquaintance of hers: The foamball.
Tatiana Weston takes home the prize for courage. The Brazilian landed several bombs and unlike what had happened to her in the previous days during the event, she did not complete any of them.

Tyler Wright was the best competitor in the tournament and also landed a couple of bombs for Backdoor.
