This is how the second day of the Billabong Pro Pipeline unfolded as captured by official WSL photographers Brent Bielmann and Tony Heff.

Small to medium waves at Backdoor with inconsistent moments but other moments of magic.

Sally Fitzgibbons started the event confidently but in the round of 16 she was unable to beat Tyler Wright.
Tatiana Weston Webb shows a good disposition in the tubular waves and with that and her talent she got into the quarterfinals. She will face Tyler Wright.
One of the surfers of the day was young Molly Picklum; she is going into the quarterfinals against Carissa, in a super series.
Defending champion Moana Jones is out of the event at the hands of Lakey Peterson; one of the surprises of the event.
Lakey Peterson is on her way to beating the defending champion and making it to the quarterfinals; now she faces Brisa Hennessy.
Carissa is the favorite now but watch out for Molly Picklum
Courtney Conlogue showed her determination but that was not enough and she was eliminated in round 2 of the tournament.
Local talent, Gabriela Bryan, finding her way into the Backdoor to make it to the quarterfinals; she faces her neighbor, Bettylou Sakura Johnson in the quarterfinals.
Isabella Nichols met an inspired Molly Picklum and left the event in the round of 16.
That yellow lycra will no longer belong to Steph Gilmore.
17 years old and doing incredible things; despite her good performance in the elimination round, the young Californian could not beat Hennessy in the round of XNUMX and said goodbye to the event.
