Argentina won the first edition of the Copa Río de la Plata with victories by Vera Jarisz in the women's category and Nacho Gundensen in the men's category.

The Albicelestes won the tag team and achieved a score significantly higher than the locals.

Santiago Medeiro and Marcela Machado won the expression session and Sebastián Olarte won the men's final with Matías Nóbrega making the semis thanks to what was the best aerial of the day.

Below are the best photos of the day:

Joaco Muñoz Larreta showed an incredible arsenal of maneuvers.
And her sister Vicky too; she was the only regular footer to make it to the final.
Vicky celebrated this wave in the final but Vera Jarisz had other plans.
Nacho Gundensen radicalizing radically in Montoya.
It's summer, it's Montoya, it's La Barra de Maldonado... Many things are happening at the same time: A final is being played, a world champion is returning to the line-up and a madman is flying through the air...
Olarte was clear in the final that he had to take risks in the final to win; he did so but he did not complete aerials like this one.
High aerial by Sebastián Olarte.
And the waves improved towards the end of the day; Montoya gave good ramps, with the size to fly as Patán knows how.
Olarte attempted impossible aerial shots to turn the final around against Gundensen.
Catalina Mercere from the water.
Aerial of Olarte also from the water. The conditions in Montoya were very fun.
Matías Nóbrega knows how to do radical maneuvers and smile at the same time.
Gundensen knew how to fly and knew how to attack Montoya's sections and that gave him the victory.
For those who don't know him, Matías Nóbrega was the surprise of the event. For those who do, he wasn't.
There was also a tag team event, which Argentina also won.

The morning was very calm in Montoya... Then it exploded, the sand and the sea.
Toto Goransky is a great surfer.
It's safe to say that there were fun conditions at Montoya.
