For the second consecutive year a Costa Rican won in El Salvador, for the second consecutive year a North American won the event, for the third consecutive year a regular footer won in the men's division and for the infinite time a tournament with incredible waves was held in the Central American nation.

Rachel Presti and Carlos Muñoz won the event and below are photos by legendary French photographer, Phillippe Demarsan of how the victory came about.

Surfing with such radicalism, Rachel Presti won the championship and the ALAS champion title.
Lucca Mesinas finished third again in this event. His backside is one of the best in the world.
That explosion by Carlos Muñoz after attacking the lip placed him at the top of the podium.
Oli Camarena did justice to his surfing in this championship. He surfed very well, very radically and was runner-up.
The Panamanian was not afraid to attack very heavy sections and that was one of the keys to getting into the grand final, in which he put up a good fight, scoring more than 15 points.
Guillermo Satt lost to Oli Camarena in a series in which the sea was slow. The Chilean achieved a good result thanks to his modern maneuvers. In the photo he attacks the lip of La Bocana breaking perfectly.
With this maneuver Oli Camarena defeated Satt in the semis.
Guillermo Satt needed to complete this aerial to have any hope of beating Camarena.
A happy Camarena after advancing to the grand final.
Lucía Indurain showed her best surfing and made it to the grand final, eliminating the big favourite, Analí Gómez.
Rachel Presti's surfing was very sharp throughout the event and that gave her the title of champion.
