There are those who say that this wave surfed by Californian Luke Davis last Wednesday is the biggest in the history of the feared Silverbacks, in Bocas del Toro, Panama.

The same sea that broke on Uvita Island He moved Hawaiians Seth Moniz and Benji Brand to the neighboring country and added the presence of the aforementioned Californian, and Koa Smith, Andrew Jacobson and Jack Robinson were also present.

According to photographer Juan “Klitin” Oliva, for this session only two bodyboarders he didn’t know and Luke, Koa and Andrew went into the water. “We arrived and it was a bit rough, we waited about 45 minutes for the waves to come in and some bombs came out. Davis Davis got the biggest wave,” said Klitin.

Davis himself wrote three words on his social networks next to the photo: "The head exploded."

For his part, one of the discoverers of the wave and legendary Panamanian surfer, Patrick Castagnet, told DUKE that “it was a great one, but not the best in history, but at least the best in the last five years” and sent the two photos below as an example.

It was big, as big as the Davis bomb?

For her part, Ilka Vargas, communications director of the Panamanian surfing association, said that only foreigners surfed that day and that “it was apparently the biggest wave surfed there.” The executive also said that the one who put on a show was skimboarder Brad Domke who surfed some bombs there, without fins.

The foreigners are there filming for the movie Snapt 4 which has a select panel of 14 chosen surfers (read more here), one of them is Carlos Muñoz.

The winning segment takes home $40.000.
