The champion of the Surf City El Salvador ALAS Pro, which will take place in La Bocana between December 10 and 13, will be the Latin champion, the Latin American Association of Professional Surfers reported today in a note sent to the press.

According to the ALAS Pro Tour regulations, the stage has been upgraded to four stars and, as there will only be two stops at the end of the year, it only has one. “According to the ALAS Pro Tour regulations, the lowest score obtained by competitors throughout the year will be eliminated, leaving open the possibility for any competitor to take home the title of ALAS champion.”

This is true for both men and women, with the stage being five-star for the ladies.

The statement emphasizes the biosafety protocol that DUKE released yesterday.

The president of ALAS, Karín Sierralta, said: “We are all committed to our health and that of others, which is why we will comply with all the measures of the government of El Salvador with the aim of not only safeguarding the health of everyone, but also returning to the new normal enjoying what we love so much: the sea and its waves. Let's respect the rules and take care of ourselves!”

The event will award $20.000 in prizes, with the winner taking home $4.400.
