Brazilian Vinicius dos Santos rode one of the biggest waves of the day, which he backed up well and was rewarded with 23,66 points that put him in first place in the El Buey big wave tournament.
A giant sea that had been announced came in, generating waves of 15 to 20 feet that generated many tense moments, broken boards and more than one surfer who came out of the water dizzy.
Dos Santos' score is 8,83, which is multiplied by two and backed up with a 6.
Close behind, however, is a heavyweight group of surfers: Nick Lamb, Lucas Silveira, Cristofer Tapia and Germán Varas, who complete the top 5.
Cristobal de Col, Eric Bahia, Diego Medina, Lapo Coutinho and Lucas Chumbo complete the top 10.
