The experience in the new wave pool in Garopaba told by a cracked surfer
Diego “Capi Bar” Tarallo met up with his friend Marco Giorgi at Surfland, the newly opened Wavegarden in Brazil, and shared all the details about how it works

The pool experience was amazing. It is highly recommended to be able to have that and go at any time of the day or when the sea is flat; it is useful for training maneuvers and tubes.
I did most of my tube sessions and the wave demands you, it has a different tempo than the beach, you have to place the board at an angle a little more towards the beach because if not the wave with the angle that comes when it bites the bank will get stuck and you will hit yourself.
The bottom of the pool doesn't hit much, it's like hard rubber but it's still dangerous, there are people who wear helmets.
MANEUVERS
I think it's very useful for professional surfers to practice maneuvers. There are also priorities, the merry-go-round is respected, but the priority is respected and whoever gets to the peak first will be able to catch more waves in the session.
If you fall and get four on your head, you have to move towards the wall so as not to interfere with the surfers who are on the next waves because the period is very short; there are four waves that come very close together and then the pool slows down for a minute and throws out four more waves and it stays like that from 6am to 11pm.
ALL TASTES
There is something for everyone, there is a wave called Malibu that is for surfing, one for beginners that is very rippable, half a metre but very easy to hit and the series throws 10 waves; it's a lot, stop for 40 seconds and throw 10 more waves and so on.
It's a wave that you know that at the moment the tube is going to throw you in the same place, it allows you to fall and come back and have the possibility of falling again and doing it again or falling and falling until you get the move and then the tubes will roll.
They are short, intense tubes, different from the beach, it has a different interpretation. In the pool tube you have to put the back foot in quite slow and come out dry compared to the beach where we usually put the foot in front of the back pad. It is quite good for training.
BELIEFS ABOUT PRIORITY
They think that you respect the turn and do everything in one stroke, so it requires a certain amount of training, you take a lot of waves. We had an experience with Marco where we were left alone in the session on a wave of maneuvers, we took 35 series and we reached all of them and that wave stopped for only 40 seconds and we automatically went back through the channel and we saw that the machine was going to throw it and we reached the third or fourth wave of that series and we talked with him about who was going on which wave.
COMFORT, CRACK AND TRAINING
It's like arriving at a modern airport, there are hotels, restaurants, bars... You can stay and eat with your family and watch the wave next door or leave work late and go to train at the wave, get a turn. It's amazing to be able to have it; the world has changed, I think there will be more pools everywhere.
The sea is the sea, but what happens here is that before you would go to a gym or play soccer, and today you can go to a wave pool to train because that's what it's all about, having a little bit of training.
And at the crack level it also makes your head spin, it makes your crack smaller 100% because you have your moment, you have your wave, you know it's going to come, you have to take care of it, you don't want to fall, you want to complete it and even though reading is sometimes a little difficult.
CHLORINE TUBULAR CHALLENGE
Although those who book the tube session have already had a few trips up the waves, they find it difficult, especially on the backside. I have seen some good wipe outs. We all generally end up falling until we get the hang of the wave and can do a couple of tubes per session. It is a lot of fun.
TECHNICALITIES OF EACH SESSION
Each session is divided into two, they are 50 minutes in which you take a minimum of 12 to 14 waves and you have 25 minutes of one wave and 25 of another, there is a screen that tells you how much time is left until the series starts.
There is a guide who gives you warnings. When there are 10 seconds left, they let you know and the numbers on the wall indicate the turns, the machine starts and you know which one you are on depending on how you got to the rowing.
They are not all the same, in the tube the third and fourth are wider and the first is smoother, it comes with calmer water.
