Lakey Peterson knocked Carissa Moore out of the competition and now there will be a close fight in Honolua Bay
Carissa Moore was unable to claim the world title today in Portugal after her main rival, Lakey Peterson, eliminated her in a relatively close semi-final.
Peterson was on the back foot for much of the series but found a left hand that gave him the score to beat Moore and hold the lead until the end.
With this result, Moore leaves Portugal as the leader with 58600 points and if Lakey Peterson wins she will get quite close, reaching 57325 for Hawaii. If she places second against Caroline Marks she will have 55125, which will still put her close.
If Caroline Marks wins, she will leave with 53410, which would give her a slight chance in Hawaii.
