Registration is now open for bodyboarders and shortboarders making their debut at the event; surfing the Bluff barrels with two or three people in the water is the way to go.

The fifth edition of the Bocas International will take place between July 20 and 26 in the heavy waves of Bluff, Bocas del Toro, Panama, and this year it comes with the novelty of adding the shortboard division to the event.
A tournament that was traditionally for bodyboarders, they say that after great insistence, it opened up to shortboarders.
The categories to be contested, as detailed on the website where registrations are already being received, are: Open Men, Junior, shortboard, Master, Open Women, Dropknee, Best barrel Surf and Best Barrel Bodyboard.
On their Instagram they wrote: “The dream continues. From July 20th to 26th, we welcome the world to Bocas del Toro for the fifth edition of Bocas International. A celebration of waves, people, and culture, where surfing and bodyboarding meet in one of the most unique destinations in the Caribbean.”
“More than a competition. It’s a movement,” they conclude.
