An unprecedented championship has come to an end. It will be difficult to find anyone who finds similarities between surfing in Lima 2019 and any other surfing championship held in history.

The Olympic world and all its strict protocols made themselves felt, it hurt many at many times, but the athletes were exalted, as they deserve.

And the athletes were thrilled by this competition like no other. Especially the fight for first place in shortboard and the dream of going to the Olympics.

It was an impressive experience for everyone involved. In the photos that follow, none of which are action-packed, only emotional, what has been said is clear.

A 17-year-old warrior, Daniella Rosas won gold in women's shortboard for Peru, setting foot in Tokyo 2020.
Lele Usuna is one of the most charismatic surfers on the planet: Messi's talent with Maradona's balls, he vibrates events like no one else, and people vibrate with him.
The pride of the women's SUP Race podium, Lena Ribeiro, Candice Appleby and Maricarmen Rivera.
Daniella Rosas celebrates, raises her arms and looks at the judges. A future Sofia Mulanovich?
The joy of Uruguayan Julián Schweizer, who with class, determination and balls beat the best until he met Piccolo Clemente.
Determination in the face of all obstacles. Mimi Barona took this Pan American competition very seriously and she was missing one last step. She is a surfer who inspires with her positivity, her love of sport and her desire to always improve.
A machine. Giorgio Gomez almost won the bronze in the SUP race without having trained for it because he focused on surfing and didn't want to leave any doubts. He won easily and raised his arms like a Caesar.
Friendliness, joy, talent and innocence of Izzi Gómez, gold in SUP Surfing.
Another machine: Connor Baxter went to Lima 2019 to win the SUP Race medal and dominated the race from start to finish. He is a waterman in every sense of the word. If the boat sinks, he will definitely be safe.
Download: Izzi Gómez left the door open more than once yesterday, with Vania very close throughout the final confrontation, when the double bugle finally sounded, she felt liberated. She was the favorite and was the champion.
Lele Usuna finished his series not very happy with the score given to him by the judges but on the podium he could do nothing but feel proud.
Expectation: The wait for the results of the last exchange is quite a moment.
We said it above: Giorgio Gómez is a machine. He took two waves in 10 minutes that gave him more than 18 points and left Tamil Martino with no chance.
Ornella Pellizzari is tenacity, rebellion, passion, talent, affection and a source of pride for all Argentines.
Chloé Calmón's friendliness, joy, patriotism and talent are a great representation of all of Brazil.
One way or another, this warrior named Mimi Barona is going to achieve her dream of going to Tokyo 2020, and if she doesn't, she'll be happy anyway.
People tend to look down on authorities: In the photo there are two people who dedicated a good part of their lives to giving surfers more opportunities, and they succeeded. Fernando Aguerre, president of the ISA and Carlos Neuhaus, president of the Lima 2019 organizing committee.
Podium of the 21st century: Mafer Reyes took her selfie with Chloe Calmon and Mathea Olin. We want to see that photo, Mafer!
Lucca Mesinas, 100% Peruvian pride.
Mafer Reyes, 100% Peruvian pride and joy.

The most successful Peruvian surfer today is called Piccolo Clemente.
Lele Usuna, Lucca Mesinas and Bryan Pérez have seen each other thousands of times, never in their lives have they shared a moment like this.
At the end of the day, what matters most is going into the water and having fun, right?
Mimi Barona, Daniella Rosas and Ornella Pellizzari, sharing joy.
Chloé Calmón cried when she heard her anthem.
Ornella dedicated the medal to the Argentine band that cheered her on from the stands.
The stadium was packed and one of the most representative surfers in the history of Peru, Jarita Gómez, was present to encourage his friends.
Even President Vizcarra was present.
