The first swell of the season in the Pacific arrived last week, on March 11 to be exact, and several of the best Peruvian big wave surfers were present.

The sun came out, the sea remained glassy, with a very light offshore wind and bombs came in but nothing got out of control.

A critical drop by Ignacio Spud Salazar was considered the wave of the day.
