El Gringo roared on his first day of competition

It took three years for the traditional international competition to take place again and the wave, as always, was the protagonist.

Not to make any exception, El Gringo's wave was the main protagonist of the return of its classic championship. It took three years for the tubes to appear again and then they did.

Waves from double overhead to triple overhead, with even bigger sets broke to determine that the following surfers advance to round 2: Ian Gouveia, Franco Radziunas, León de la Torre, Heitor Muller, Diego Medina, Tomás López Moreno, Ryan Kainalo, Leandro Usuna, Eric Bahía, Valentin Neves, Pedro Amorim, Igor Moraes, Eduardo Motta and Gustavo Dvorquez.

The best sum and the best wave of the day was achieved by the Brazilian Pedro Amorim who scored 8,83 which he backed up with 2,57 to add 10,90 in what was one of the most contested series of the day, which left his compatriot Igor Moraes in second place and eliminated the Chilean Rodrigo Reyes and the also Brazilian Rodrigo Saldanha.

In the middle of the morning, with the wind coming in gently but damaging the waves, it was decided to pause the championship.

There is great expectation about what might happen tomorrow, the powerful southwest swell that is hitting the south of Chile is expected to arrive, which caused the Punta de Lobos championship to be launched. It could happen that the event is not held because the sea is too cold or it could happen that it is launched in waves.
