The incredible session in Punta de Lobos last Sunday

A review of some of the other best waves surfed on the epic day


Chile is an absolute magnet for waves, almost like no other place on the planet.

In the middle of March, the South Pacific was not exactly painted purple like it is in the middle of winter, but with a solid swell and good direction, Punta de Lobos received a crazy day of big wave surfing.

The tube behind the hills was impressive; it wasn't just the wave of Martín Fuenzalida, the young 19-year-old goofy footer who got the tube that went around the world; many other things happened.
