Last week in La Bocana, Costa Rican Carlos Muñoz took the title by winning his most complicated series by doing an incredible backside aerial that was worth more than nine points.

Local Bryan Perez took note, the championship was over and he went to do the same as Cali. In a short time the maneuver turned out perfectly.

This is how filmmaker Jose Madalengoitia describes what happened: "That day our mission was to look for backgrounds, not just surfing and maneuvers but also backgrounds that show El Salvador. And Philippe Demarsan, the French photographer, said that we could achieve it in El Zonte. That's where we went.

I remember there was little time, it was 1630:1730 and the sun sets at XNUMX:XNUMX. And we arrived and the guys we had agreed to surf with didn't show up. I called Bryan and he told me he would come down right away. He did and went into the water.

At first, his maneuvers weren't working out, they weren't working out, he couldn't find the waves and I saw him a little frustrated. Until one moment, boom! He got an aerial, he fell and immediately went into a mental mode that everything went well for him. Two minutes later this one came, it was a great aerial, we were all left dumbfounded.

When I turned around I saw Phillippe and we celebrated as if it were a great goal for the national team.

The boy's applause at the end is epic. It was a very nice moment. The boy who is applauding is one of Bryan's pupils at Puro Surf, he follows him everywhere and wherever Bryan is, he is there."
