Quarantine seems to have awakened the creativity of the best surfers in Peru. On the one hand, there was the Villa revolution (see note here), the encounter with Playa X and now this kind of The Box emerges but with three times the size that Joaquín del Castillo and Sebastián Gómez surf.
The aforementioned surfers had already shared impressive stories about the spot and had been reluctant to share information. Sebastian had told DUKE that they were looking forward to running it when it was ready.
The photo below, taken by Dante Montalvo, makes it clear that he was caught off guard.
The photo's comment reads: "The endless search, thanks Sebastián Gómez and Dante Montlvo, what a family team, what an honor! Paddling through some outer reef with my 6'8 Quiver Surf. My uncle Kodiak Semsch's Mantarraii impact vest is more than necessary."
What's next? A smash hit? Definitely.
