Special coverage presented by Surf City - El Salvador Travel 

The World Masters Championship will be held on the waves of El Sunzal, El Salvador between October 18 and 24 and the ISA has just closed registrations and revealed everything there is to know about the event.

-A total of 28 teams are registered, they are the following:

-92 athletes in total will compete in the event distributed as follows:
Masters 40+ (Men): 24
Masters 40+ (Women): 17
Grand Masters 50+ (Men): 20
Grand Masters 50+ (Women): 9
Kahunas 60+ (Men): 15
Kahunas 60+ (Females): 7

-Six medals will be awarded individuallyAs can be seen from the list in the previous point, there are three categories in total and two genders. That is to say, a total of six individual medals will be awarded: +40, +50 and +60 in the two genders.

-Six editions of this event have been held in the history of the ISA..

This year will be the seventh and the only country to repeat, as El Salvador hosted this event in 2011.

The previous ISA Masters World Championships were as follows and won by:
-Puerto Rico 2007 – South Africa won
-Punta Rocas, Peru 2008 – South Africa won
-Santa Catalina, Panama 2010 – Australia won
-Punta Roca, El Salvador 2011 – UNITED STATES WON
-Playa Colorados, Nicaragua, 2012 – Hawaii won
-Montañita Beach, Ecuador, 2013 – Hawaii won

-With two titles per team each, the teams that won the most world masters are Hawaii and South Africa.
