Capillo Perfeito goes global and adds two stages: Mozambique and Indonesia

They changed the format and have already announced their guests

The Portuguese invitational event Capitulo Perfeito, traditionally held on the waves of Carcavelos, added two stages this year and became a "global circuit"; one in Mozambique and the other in Indonesia, they reported on their Instagram.

The scheduled dates are:

-Carcavelos: January 12 – March 12
-Mozambique: January 12 – March 30
-Indonesia: September 1-15

The guests for the first date have already been announced: Anne Dos Santos, Balaram Stack, Bruno Santos, Cam Richards, Joao Mendoça, Joel Parkinson, Miguel Blanco, Nic Von Rupp, Noah Beschen, Pedro Boonman, Rob Machado, Soli Bailey, Torrey Meister, Tosh Tudor and Tomás Valente, and a surprise wildcard is yet to be announced.

Change of formate
The organization reported that the scoring format has changed.

The biggest novelty is that the best score of the best wave surfed is carried over from series to series.

Below is their explanation:
In the new format, the 16 surfers compete in Round 1 and Round 2, both non-elimination rounds. After these two rounds, the 8 athletes with the best overall score (best wave combination) from Rounds 1 and 2 advance directly to Round 4.

The remaining 8 surfers compete in Round 3 (repechage), where each athlete begins their heat with their best score from Round 2, plus their two best waves from Round 3. The 4 surfers with the highest overall score advance, while the others are eliminated.

In Round 4, 12 surfers compete: the top 8 from the first rounds and the 4 "repechage" surfers from Round 3. In this case, the principle remains the same: each athlete enters their heat with their best wave from Round 2, plus their two best waves from Round 4. The top 4 finishers secure a place in the final.

The final maintains the classic format of surf competitions, where the surfer with the two best waves wins.
