The sea got too big at Teahupoo and the trials were postponed until tomorrow

An epic free surfing session, both stand-up and tow-in, is taking place right now; check out some of the morning's best waves here

The sea was too rough today at Teahupoo for the Tahiti Pro trials and the organizers decided to put them on hold. They are expected to take place tomorrow, the last day that they can be held, said participant Koa Rothman in a live broadcast from the wave channel.

Several impressive waves were surfed today, including a bomb from Lucas Chumbo Chianca tow in and another paddling out, another from Tikanui Smith also tow in, and one from Arohe Tefafana.

Rothman said the heats feature tow-in waves only, with some intermediate waves to paddle out. The Hawaiian said his friend Nathan Florence suffered a heavy wipe out in the morning session. No serious injuries were reported, and John John's younger brother was sitting in the channel smiling.

During the live broadcast, it was explained that the organizer of the trials, Pascal Luciani, said that the sea was too extreme to carry out the test.

We will expand.
