All men's series could change if Hawaiian Barron Mamiya's injury is confirmed. He is awaiting the results of tests on his knee, Brazilian outlet AOS Mídia reported.
The Hawaiian emerged from the water feeling weak after his heat against Kelly Slater in the elimination round at Lowers and withdrew from the event.
He had said he was going to be present in Brazil, but now this has been called into question.
The aforementioned media outlet reported that if Mamiya is not present, Mateus Herdy, who is the next South American in the WSL South America ranking, will enter the challenger series.
