This is how the 2020 tour begins
The WSL published yesterday the match schedules for the first stage of the Championship Tour, which will begin with the Corona Open Gold Coast, which will take place between March 26 and April 5 at Snapper Rocks or nearby beaches, depending on the sand conditions (last year it was held at Duranbah).
One of the biggest changes is the permanent presence of Slater, who is starting his 30th season and it is not known for certain whether he will make it to the full season.
John John Florence, who battled his knee injury and competed at Pipe to secure his place at Tokyo 2020, also appears to be on the rise, as do fellow former world champions Italo Ferreira, Gabriel Medina and Adriano de Souza.
Among the ladies, the return of Tyler Wright and the absence of Carissa Moore are the new additions. Costa Rican Brissa Hennessy appears to be in a position to beat Courtney Conlogue and Johanne Defay.
The wildcards have not yet been defined.
