The strategic keys to winning in El Rosario
Some notes on how victory is achieved in the powerful Guatemalan beach break in the surfing competition at the Central American Games.

El Rosario is an interesting beach to establish a strategy for. It's not as simple as choosing a spot where a good wave is sure to come; that strategy could end up being very risky, and the wave may never come.
Because although there are corners, there are corners that open, there are not that many.
And then there are the bombs, the one in the series, which can be an absolute close or have a centimeter that gives you space to attack or another centimeter that gives you space to tube.
The strategies to win in El Rosario could be divided as follows:
THE BRAVE AND OPTIMISTIC ONE WHO IS THE MOST RISKY
From the outside, see where the series is opening the most. Go there and wait inside for the bomb. Whether it's for the tubes or a maneuver, the judges will reward you with an excellent score.
A critical attack in El Rosario already carries a high price. Like Sofia Artieda's left foot in the Pan American Games final.
A tube in El Rosario pays a lot, like the ones Sasha Donnanno did a couple of years ago or Sebastián Williams did at the Pan American Games (oh, coincidentally, they're both from Oaxaca, Mexico).
It happens every now and then that one of the series comes in and stays open, allowing for a series of maneuvers. Since the wave is so strong, this success is always critical, and therefore the score is high. This wave is the hardest to find of all the others. You can spend an entire series and not find any of this.
THE MOST INSURING
Between series and series, an intermediate wave breaks, opening, especially in places where the current suction is.
The key is to stay in the impact zone, maybe a little further out, but the point is very exact, and then wait for the intermediary who enters between series and series and who opens much more and it seems that it doesn't, but since the bank is so flat, it presents powerful sections to attack.
The score is unlikely to be excellent, but it will likely be enough to advance. In later rounds, it will be necessary to have at least one of the strategies listed above.
The risk of this strategy is missing one of the gems mentioned above, and taking 150 huge waves on your head, but it's competition and you have to be willing to sacrifice to win.
THE MIX
This strategy is widely used: Split the clock in half and go for a couple of girls who can serve to build the house at the beginning and then go for closing the series with one of the big ones.
Or do it the other way around. Find a good one at the beginning and back it up with a smaller one.
In the end, everything can turn out well or badly, because the one who rules in El Rosario is El Rosario.
