Modern Life, a program hosted by the famous comedian David Broncano and his two henchmen, Ququé and Ignatius Farray, devoted more than seven minutes of their program to deciphering how the failure rate in surfing is very high and that a large gap is created between those who surf very well and those who do it poorly.

The comedian uses his visits to the beaches as an example, saying that he goes and sees everyone falling. He emphasises how there are 15 good surfers who are becoming extinct and that those who remain are all bad.

They compare this with football, a sport in which they identify a better distribution of level.

The statements were echoed in specialized Spanish media, Surf 30 headlined: "David Broncano's ignorance" and Surf Cantabria wrote: "If you are one of those who gets indignant at the first opportunity, don't watch it... If you like satire and laughing at yourself, go for it."

Broncano won two prestigious Ondas awards in 2018 and 2019.
