A new edition of the historic big wave championship, the Punta de Lobos Ceremonial, was launched last Wednesday, September 15 and will run until Sunday, September 16, reported the local portal. ChileSurf.

Once again, the list of participants will be made up of 18 local surfers and six international ones; the final list has not yet been released, but it is expected that the legendary Ramón Navarro, Diego Medina and Cristian Merello will be confirmed, along with the defending champion León Vicuña and Chacha Ibarra, to name a few.

One of the novelties this year is ecology, in one of the most environmentally conscious places, it was reported that they will end the event in a “carbon neutral” way, that is, without leaving a trace in carbon emissions.

The Ceremony celebrates 20 years of history, two of which were called Punta de Lobos Challenge.
