The talented Brazilian longboarder and free surfer Yam Wisman died today in the Philippines as a victim of a motorcycle accident, several sources from the global longboarding community reported on their networks and in contact with DUKE.

Wisman had traveled to the Asian country to participate in the WSL qualifier held in La Unión and stayed for several days. At the event, he made it to the round of 32, where he narrowly lost.

Then the legendary Joel Tudor also shared the news: “He left us far too soon. Rest in peace, Yam Wisman. My condolences to the family,” he wrote.

Wisman had participated in several WSL longboard events but was also a good shortboarder, he traveled and often got barreled.
