The Ladies' waves in Punta Hermosa, Peru, could return to the WSL calendar in 2024 if negotiations between the entity and its Peruvian counterpart are confirmed, reported a statement sent yesterday to competitors, coaches and interested parties to which DUKE had access.

“Another good news is that we are in the final approval process to make official the Señoritas Open Pro from February 13 to 17, with stages of the QS 1000 and Junior Sub-20 in Punta Hermosa, Peru. While the QS that is contested on the famous Señoritas left side is worth points for the current 2023/24 season, the Pro Junior will be opening the 2024 ranking of the category,” the statement says.

It would then be a valid stage for 2023-20224 and the first for the youth ranking that qualifies for the World Cup, which traditionally takes place in January of the following year in California.

Señoritas has already hosted the QS, when in 2019 it had a 3000 that was won by Gatien Delahaye. Before that, a pro junior was held in 2006, won by local Matías Mulanovich.

The same statement says that the Hang Loose Pro Contest of Fernando de Noronha, which will be the last event of the 2023/2024 season and is planned to take place between March 12 and 17, has not yet been confirmed.
