The Punta Galea Challenge has been given the green light

Waves of five metres are expected with perfect wind and tide conditions this Monday

The Punta Galea Challenge organization confirmed that the 10th edition of the tournament will take place this Monday, December 13, on a day that promises to be exciting, with waves of up to five meters and excellent wind and tide conditions.

We expect very large waves of more than 5 metres, especially during the first hours of the day. “It will be a fast-moving swell, so we will start early, at 8:30. The wind and tide conditions are perfect, unbeatable!” says the press release.

In addition to the Basque contingent, some of the competitors who had previously been confirmed are Jamie Mitchell, Lucas Chianca and Twiggy Baker.

The statement reports the absence of local star Natxo González, who was injured while surfing in Hawaii and will miss the tournament in which he shone more than once, especially last year when he surfed the best wave of the tournament.

This will be the tournament's second year of independence after separating from the WSL, when it was a stage of the big wave world tour.
