There is a yellow alert for the Puerto Cup

Powerful southwest swell is heading towards Puerto. The possible date for this event would be Monday, June 11.

Shortly after announcing the holding of the Puerto Cup as an independent event, no longer part of the World Surf League, the organizers announced a yellow alert and are waiting to see how the swell evolves so that the tournament can possibly take place on Monday, June 11.

The final call will be this Friday at noon, but if all else remains the same, there will be an event on Monday.

Some encouraging signs are that the Facebook profile where the event can be watched live has already announced that there will be a broadcast. On the other hand, renowned surfers such as the Chilean Cristian Merello are on their way to Zicatela.

The downside is that while there will be big swells, the winds remain uncertain.
