The WSL Airborne will have three stages in 2019, the WSL announced today in a press release. The Gold Coast in Australia, Keramas in Indonesia and Hossegor in France will decide the best aerialist in the world, at least wearing a lycra.

The dates of each tournament and the location will be as follows:

Red Bull Airborne Gold Coast:  April 3 - 9, 2019
Red Bull Airborne Keramas: May 13 - 19, 2019
Red Bull Airborne Hossegor: October 3 - 9, 2019

Each event will feature 18 surfers, half of whom are expected to be invited and the other half members of the WSL CT.

The guest list has not yet been disclosed.

Last year, Mexican Sebastián Williams and Puerto Rican Leif Engstrom participated. Another Puerto Rican, Héctor Santamaría, had been invited but could not travel to the event because he could not get funding for the tickets..

The only event of this type held by the WSL last year was won by Brazilian Yago Dora.

The WSL also announced that it has signed a contract with Red Bull to sponsor these events, the World Big Wave Tour and the Big Wave Awards.
