There will be an international tow-in event in Pico Alto

With competitors from Peru, Brazil, Chile, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Argentina and Portugal, they plan to organize an international circuit by 2025

Between May and July, if the waves at Pico Alto get big, the newly created International Tow In Association will hold its first event, organizers said in a press release.

“This exciting tournament will bring together over 30 international athletes, both men and women, representing nine different countries: Peru, Brazil, Chile, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Argentina and Portugal. Organized into national teams, these elite surfers will compete in an exciting display of skill and prowess, boosting camaraderie and competition between nations,” the statement said.

The organizers reported that the idea is for this to become a circuit: “Looking to the future, the organization has ambitious plans for 2025, with the inclusion of dates in Peru, Brazil, Chile, Portugal and Spain, which promises to further expand the reach and influence of this exciting event.”
