There will be no Ceremony but there will be Trials in Punta de Lobos this year
The waiting period for waves is already running and goes until September 30
The trials for the 2019 Punta de Lobos Ceremonial are already on hold, the local Chilean website, Chilesurf.cl, reported on its website.
The tournament period began on July 15 and runs until September 30.
“As we were unable to hold a good big wave event at Punta de Lobos this year, the Haka Honu trials will be held to have the final list of the main event in 2020,” said tournament organizer Carlos Ferrer.
“We are preparing a championship that strongly returns to our roots and that seeks to relive the beginnings of this great event, Los Triales,” he added.
The list of 28 invited participants is currently being compiled and applicants can apply via the Haka Honu website.
