A Wavegarden will be installed in the Solia Shopping Center in the heart of Madrid in 2020, several media outlets in that country reported today and the group confirmed in its Facebook.

According to the magazine Malls The pool will be 25.000 square metres, of which 18.000 will be occupied by the artificial lagoon. It is not clear whether it is a Cove or the previous model of the Basque wave production company.

In addition to the pool, there will be a surf school, surf shop, bar, restaurant and other services.

This is the third Wavegarden planned in Spain, along with the one in Barcelona (which is still in the planning stages) and the one in the Basque Country, at the company's headquarters.

There are also two swimming pools operating using this technology, one in Texas, United States, and the other in Snowdonia, Wales.

No details have been released on possible ticket prices or the cost of the investment.

In the group's responses to its fans on Facebook, it said that the work would begin in five months.

Wavegarden has not yet issued any statement or post on this issue.

Solia, as stated on its website, is a shopping centre that has opted for leisure and sport, as it plans to build bicycle circuits, green spaces and places for skateboarding. The project is located in the Madrid neighbourhood of El Cañaveral.
