The Eddie Aikau Memorial Big Wave Tournament series was announced by Hawaiian local Makua Rothman.
Ramón Navarro will compete in heat 5 of round 1 and 5 of round 2. In his first match he will be alongside Kelly Slater, Twiggy Baker, Jamie Mitchell, Luke Shepardson, Michael Ho and Tyler Larronde.
In her second series she will star alongside Makua Rothman, Nathan Florence, Ross Clarke-Jones, Luke Shepardson, Michael Ho and Tyler Lorronde.
The result in each series is not what is important, if it is maintained, the format of the event dictates that the surfer who adds the most points in his four best waves on the two occasions he enters the water will win with a maximum of eight waves to be surfed.
