The MexPipe Warriors organization announced the series of the event that will take place this Thursday and Friday in Zicatela, Puerto Escondido.

The format, if it repeats last year's, will put in the grand final the six surfers who achieve the best score adding their best wave of heat 1, their best wave of heat 2 and the third best wave regardless of which heat.

According to a press release, the judges will be Barto Ceruti Gamio, Sergio Ramírez Rito and Heather Hamilton.

Today we already had a good session with several pipes and it is expected that the Mexican Pipe will continue to provide for the following days.

The champion of last year's event was Balaram Stack.

This championship honors the memory of one of the best surfers in the history of Puerto Rico, Oscar Moncada, who tragically passed away in a car accident on November 26, 2017.
