These are the round 1 heats of the Pipe Masters
There are still three places to be announced.
Unlike traditional events, the 8 World Tour will kick off December 20-2021 in Pipeline, Hawaii, where the season traditionally ends.
The World Surf League announced the Round 1 matchups today, which follow below.
Among the favorites at Pipe, Kelly will face Caio Ibelli and Miguel Pupo, John John will face Wade Carmichael and Ethan Ewing, Medina will face Frederico Morais and a wildcard or trial winner, Italo Ferreira will face his friend Jadson André and another wildcard or trial winner, and finally there will be a super series between Jeremy Flores and Jack Robinson, who will also have a talented rider like Ryan Callinan.
