These are the scenarios for Mimi Baron's qualification to the Challengers

The only dispute that remains for the five South Americans is between the Ecuadorian and the Brazilian Julia Duarte

By reaching the quarterfinals of the QS in Salinas, Ecuadorian Dominic Barona took another step towards qualifying for the WSL Challenger Series, the step prior to the CTs.

The local player has a great chance, but Brazilian Julia Duarte, ranked seventh, still has a mathematical chance of beating her.

According to the press office of the WSL South America, the scenarios are the following:

-Julia Duarte needs to win the event and hope that Barona doesn't make it to the grand final.

-If Mimi makes it to the grand final, she qualifies regardless of whether Duarte wins the event.

-If Mimi makes it to the semis, Duarte needs to win the championship.

-If Mimi loses in the quarterfinals, Duarte only surpasses her by winning the event.

Barona's qualification to the quarterfinals left Melanie Giunta, Summer Macedo and Naire Márquez without a chance of going to the challengers.

The women's quarter-finals will go into the water tomorrow and are formed as follows:

1.a: Daniella Rosas (PER) x Sophia Medina (BRA)
2.a: Julia Duarte (BRA) x Nairê Marquez (BRA)
3.a: Melanie Giunta (PER) x Isabela Saldanha (BRA)
4.a: Dominic Barona (ECU) x Summer Macedo (HAW)
