These are the surfing series in Santiago 2023
The 28 round 1 matches of men's and women's shortboard, longboard and SUP Surf that will take place in Punta de Lobos; an incredible coincidence of matches from the same country

Three of the eight round 1 heats of the men's shortboard category in Santiago 2023 surfing will be clashes between surfers from the same country, as can be seen according to the calculations made by DUKE based on the technical manual of the test and the seedings of each athlete.
Brazilians Krystian Kymmerson and Marcos Correa, Argentines Lele Usuna and Franco Radziunas and Panamanians Oli Camarena and Isauro Elizondo will face each other in round 1 of the tournament.
In any case, since the tournament is double elimination, none of them will be left out of the championship at that stage.
Those who lose will go to a first round of play-offs that will make the crossovers not by seeding but by series, that is, the 1 of the 2st will go against the 1 of the 2nd, the 2 of the 2rd against the 3 of the 2th and so on.

Meanwhile, in longboard and in men's and women's SUP Surfing, the first two in each series of three people will advance to round 2 of the main event and the third will meet in a single repechage series 1 in which only the third will be eliminated.
The winners of that playoff round will then face the losers of Round 2 of the main event.
