The holding of a second edition of the Puerto Escondido Cup is already on hold, the tournament organizer, Surf Open League, reported on social media.

Not many other details have been provided about the event other than that it will take place during the month of June, that waves are expected and that 30 surfers, both Mexican and international, will be invited.

Last year, when it was reported that there would be no Puerto Challenge being part of the WSL, the tournament's organizers decided to hold their own championship outside of the world league.

The first edition was held in pumping waves and was won by Bianca Valenti and Lucas Chianca.

Mexican Isabelle Leonhardt was a standout, landing a bomb and placing second. That performance later led her to the Jaws Challenge.
